Lead financial excellence at the heart of Westminster School Westminster School is seeking an accomplished Senior Financial Controller to lead its finance operations team and play a central role in the financial stewardship of one of the country's leading independent schools. Based in the historic and distinctive setting of Dean's Yard, this is an opportunity to combine technical financial expertise with visible leadership, supporting a vibrant educational community and the long-term success of the school and its associated charities and companies. You will take ownership of the day-to-day financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, robust controls and an efficient, responsive service to colleagues across the organisation. Working closely with the Finance Bursar, you will lead month-end and year-end processes, support the delivery of a clean audit and timely annual accounts, and oversee the school's ledgers, income collection, payments, reconciliations and fixed assets. A key priority will be developing the team and embedding the recently implemented iFinance system, using technology and continuous improvement to strengthen processes and enhance the quality of financial information. About you You will be an experienced finance professional with strong technical accounting knowledge, proven financial control experience and the ability to lead and develop a team. You will bring a thorough understanding of financial reporting, audit, compliance and effective internal controls, together with the confidence to manage complex processes and build productive relationships with senior stakeholders. Experience of charity accounting, VAT, Gift Aid or education-sector finance would be advantageous, but candidates from other sectors with relevant expertise are encouraged to apply.
