Vendors Teamtailor Finance · London · Hybrid, We are recruiting for an Assistant Financial Accountant to join us on an interim basis to support the Finance function and ensure business continuity, assist in the preparation of monthly accounting data and balance sheet reconciliations and support the year end external audit. What you will be doing: Month end accounting & balance sheet management:

  • Posting of month end journals, preparing account reconciliations and ensuring robust balance sheet controls.
  • Manage rebate accruals in collaboration with business partners.
  • Assist with the preparation and posting of general and ad hoc expense accruals and prepayments to ensure accurate period-end reporting
  • Collaborate with other departments and respond to reporting needs, ensuring accuracy and alignment with business objectives
  • Support preparation of management commentary for Senior Leadership Team reporting and review
  • Tax & compliance
  • Preparation of monthly VAT / Sales Tax returns for non-UK entities (including US State Sales Tax returns)
  • Preparation of quarterly UK VAT returns
  • Ad hoc support for tax authority questions / audits; leading relationship with external tax advisors as appropriate
  • Employee expenses
  • Management of monthly employee expenses across the business
  • Ensure timely approval of expenses in Concur
  • Calculate accruals for expenses not yet received monthly
  • Financial Audit
  • Support wider finance and operations teams on the requirements of financial audits
  • Prepare audit work papers and respond to auditor queries
  • Additional ad hoc tasks as required

  • 3+ year's experience within a similar role
  • Experience managing VAT and international sales tax compliance
  • Proactive approach to tasks who demonstrates a calm demeanour under pressure
  • SAP experience
  • Good/advanced excel skills
  • Relevant experience working within a Consumer Goods business would be an advantage
  • The ability to work to tight deadlines under pressure
  • Detail oriented, constantly challenging and verifying numbers, able to deal with complex issues
  • Keen to work within a high growth environment
  • A highly driven individual with a hands-on deck mentality
