Our products support industrial manufacturing, coding, marking, cutting and scientific applications across the globe, with more than 250,000 laser systems in use worldwide.We are expanding our engineering capability and are seeking an RF Engineer to help develop the next generation of RF power systems driving our advanced CO laser technologies.The OpportunityYou will work at the forefront of RF development within a multidisciplinary engineering team responsible for both new product innovation and continuous improvement.This role offers true technical depth, combining RF amplifier design, experimentation, testing and problem-solving in an environment where your expertise will directly influence product performance and reliability.What you will be doing:Designing RF electronics for laser excitation systemsDeveloping next-generation RF amplifiers from concept through productionConducting RF testing, measurement and characterisationDesigning prototypes

and experimental test equipmentCreating schematics, PCB layouts and BOMsAnalysing performance data and translating results into actionable improvementsSupporting manufacturing and continuous improvement activitiesTroubleshooting complex technical issuesIdentifying and evaluating emerging RF technologies and componentsWhat you will bring:Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering (MSc advantageous)Practical RF development experienceExperience taking products from concept through productionStrong RF amplifier knowledgeExpertise in HF/VHF systemsPCB design and RF layout experienceUnderstanding of FCC and CE compliance requirementsStrong experimental and analytical problem-solving skillsExcellent communication skills and ability to work across technical and non-technical teamsDesirable Experience:RF plasma power suppliesThermal managementAltium DesignerADS, AWR or Spice simulation toolsPythonC/C++Solid-state RF amplifier designWhy Engineers Join Novanta:Work on genuinely challenging RF
