This role will be based in the School of Psychology with scope for it to be undertaken in a hybrid manner. We are also open to discussing flexible working arrangements.
Are you a post graduate student or early career researcher interested in digital mental health? Are you keen to learn more about how to make digital mental health more accessible? Could you support an impact research project that works closely with vulnerable communities?
The project is a collaboration between the School of Psychology at the University of Leeds and UKind Therapy CIC - a survivor-led health and wellbeing social enterprise developing trauma-informed immersive technology. This is an opportunity to contribute to genuinely meaningful, real-world impact research at the intersection of digital health, accessibility and social justice.
This post supports an ESRC Impact Acceleration Account project UKind which builds on an existing virtual reality platform designed to help people affected by trauma. The project works directly with target users to improve the accessibility of the VR resource for people from underserved communities, including migrants, refugees, survivors of domestic abuse, and those affected by honour-based abuse.
You will work closely with the principal investigator and the partner organisation supporting the day-to-day running of the project and co-design workshops, a community of practice and a research sandpit. You will co-manage two G4 undergraduate task-and-finish posts at points of peak activity. Engaging supportively with project participants from diverse social groups will be a core feature of this role, along with tasks such as ethical approval, data collection, file management and report writing.
