Full Job Description

The Ladywood Regeneration Meanwhile phase will place increased pressure on the public realm, particularly during periods of active development. This will inevitably bring heightened scrutiny from residents, partners, and the media. Through the Resident & Community Charter and Meanwhile Offer, the Council has committed to maintaining high standards of estate cleanliness, reducing fly-tipping, creating safer communal spaces, and ensuring a visible on-site presence throughout the regeneration process.,

  • Take day-to-day responsibility for maintaining the public realm across the Ladywood Regeneration area
  • Deliver enhanced cleaning of communal spaces to ensure high estate standards
  • Proactively identify and report fly-tipping, graffiti, and environmental hazards
  • Support estate walkabouts alongside Housing Officers, residents, and partner organisations
  • Provide rapid feedback on estate conditions to support effective neighbourhood management
  • Contribute to health and safety compliance across the estate
  • Neighbourhood Impact Working as part of an integrated neighbourhood management approach, you will:
  • Help maintain pride in place during a period of disruption
  • Ensure public spaces remain safe, clean, and well-presented
  • Reduce the risk of environmental decline that can contribute to anti-social behaviour and dissatisfaction
  • Provide a visible, trusted presence for residents
  • About the Role This position plays a critical role in protecting both operational performance and the Council's reputation. By maintaining consistent environmental standards, you will help prevent issues from escalating and support overall community stability. The role complements the work of the dedicated Housing Officer by enabling them to focus on tenancy management and resident support, while you ensure the physical environment reflects the Council's service standards and commitments. Why This Role Matters Regeneration in Ladywood will take place over a prolonged period, requiring sustained, consistent estate management. This role provides the continuity, local knowledge, and visible presence needed to maintain standards and resident confidence throughout this time of change. Existing resources are deployed across multiple areas and operate reactively, making it difficult to provide consistent support to a single locality. This dedicated role ensures a proactive, reliable service that meets the expectations of a long-term regeneration programme. Please upload an up-to-date CV and Supporting Statement via the attachments part of your application. The Supporting Statement should outline how you meet the criteria for the role through your personal qualities, skills and experience and include your motivation for applying to the post.
