Medical Laboratory Assistant / Phlebotomist - Grimsby

The successful candidates will be expected to work as part of the multidisciplinary Blood Sciences laboratory team following appropriate training and completion of the relevant in-house competencies., As a Medical Laboratory Assistant, your main role will be to support Biomedical Scientists and Biomedical Assistants in the processing and analysis of laboratory samples. Duties will include the receipt and processing of a wide variety of biological specimens. You will also receive training in phlebotomy, including taking blood samples from patients.

This is an important role supporting the Pathology Department and would suit individuals who enjoy a varied workload. Experience of computer data input is essential, and applicants should be able to demonstrate current IT skills. Candidates should be literate and numerate. GCSE Grade C/4 or above in Mathematics and English would be advantageous, as would previous laboratory or healthcare experience and familiarity with medical terminology. Hours: The majority of work is undertaken between 09:00 and 21:00. There is also a requirement to participate in the out-of-hours rota, including late shifts, weekends, and Bank Holidays.,
