Are you looking for an opportunity to kick start your career in the world of property maintenance? Wanting to earn while you learn? We are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Apprentice to join our Property Services Team at Horton Housing Association. This is a fantastic opportunity to join our sector leading team, and learn from the very best. This role is 35 hours per week, inclusive of one college day. The role is paying £7.55 per hour. The role is fixed term for two years. At Horton we have a track record for developing talent, with many of our apprentices going on to secure full time employment with us. Horton Housing are accredited 'Investors In People (Standard)', and we are a Disability Confident and Clean Sheet Employer. The role

In this highly rewarding role, you will be learning from and assisting the maintenance team with repairs and general upkeep of properties and grounds owned or managed by Horton Housing. You will be mentored by Maintenance Operatives, learning on the job and building your skills. As part of the Apprenticeship you will also complete a college course, this will account for 20% of your time.

What we are looking for

• Reasonable verbal or written communication skills


• Motivation and ability to develop maintenance and building related skills and ability and put learning into practice


• Motivation to learn about maintenance work


• Willingness and ability to follow direction and guidance


• Willingness to undertake the academic training required for the apprenticeship


• Willingness to undertake additional training to further knowledge and skills relating to the post
