Library Services Assistant

The role will see you assisting users with all information enquiries, which will include assistance with the Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC), helping them to find books and assisting users with the use of copiers and printers and restocking paper trays when needed. You will also be required to gather and record basic statistics, uphold information services policies and procedures, as well as dealing with any other duties that may arise. You will be required to patrol the library on a regular basis, so must be capable of climbing stairs and moving around very regularly during the shift. You will be required to be proactive and manage all tasks in an efficient and timely manner. It is important that you have the ability to respond to users in a calm and understanding manner at all times and to ensure their needs are understood and acted upon.

You must have previous library experience and be very customer focused with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
