Full Job Description

We are seeking a committed, passionate and experienced Senior Learning Mentor to join our dedicated team. This role focuses on supporting children with diagnosed behavioural disorders and additional needs, helping them overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential. You will play a key leadership role in developing personalised interventions, working closely with pupils, families, staff and external agencies to promote engagement, wellbeing and success., Russells Hall Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All appointments are subject to satisfactory reference and clearances, including an enhanced disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service. You are required to ensure that you understand your own role and responsibilities to comply with legislation and the employer's policies. Any breaches of, or failure to comply with, Data Protection requirements confidentiality or employer's policies will be dealt with through the agreed Disciplinary Procedure We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the children; therefore, the post is subject to medical clearance and an enhanced DBS check under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. All applicants must be able to provide documentation to prove their right to work in the UK. Please note: Dudley MBC does not currently offer sponsorship for candidates without the Right to Work in the UK. Effective from September 2022, KCSIE states as part of the shortlisting process schools and colleges should consider carrying out on-line searches, as part of the due diligence on shortlisted candidates. This is to determine suitability to work with children and keep them safe. All shortlisted candidates are now subject to an on-line check and if there is anything concerning, then the shortlisted candidate will be asked to comment on it either prior to or at interview.

  • Qualifications to at least a degree in a relevant field or equivalent, with GCSSE (or equivalent) in both English and Maths
  • Be a good team player
  • Be able to form a constructive rapport with pupils to enable them to engage successfully with learning
  • Experience of working with pupils with special educational needs
  • Possess high levels of personal integrity and an ability to always maintain confidentiality.

    £27,466.58 - £30,535.14 per annum. Term time only, 39 weeks (no.of working weeks). First year salary will reflect number of working days remaining in holiday year.
