Job SummaryThe Lead Assessment Officer is responsible for proactively leading efficient coordination and administration of some aspects of the assessment process within ESL for a partner organisation. This includes supervising a small team of Assessment Officers, Assessment schedules, coordinating with relevant stakeholders, ensuring compliance with partners` assessment regulations and policies. The Lead Assessment Officer will play a critical role in evaluating, analysing, and reporting on various data sets to support the organisation's strategic initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess stakeholder management skills, be confident in training and supervising staff, strong excel skills and a keen eye for detail, ensuring timely accurate and insightful data analysis to inform or lead on decision-making processes.
Key ResponsibilitiesAssessment Planning and Coordination:Develop on the implementation of detailed assessment schedules, ensuring optimal use of resources.Lead assessment logistics, including the distribution of assessment materials according to ESL's partnership university guidelines.Policy Compliance:Stay updated on internal and partners` assessment policies and guidelines to ensure compliance.Lead on the implementation and communication of assessment policies and procedures.Student Support:Provide information to internal colleagues to support candidates regarding assessments.Support the Partnership Team in delegating and answering queries and concerns related to assessments promptly and professionallyData Management:Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of assessment-related information, including candidate details, results, and feedback for a Partner organisationGenerate reports as required for internal and external stakeholders. Generate and organise statistics on assessment
records for all ESL students.Collaboration:Proactively lead and train Assessment Officers on Assessment activities alongside academic departments, faculty, and other relevant stakeholdersLiaise with external assessment boards, ensuring smooth communication and adherence to external regulations and policies.
Technology UtilisationUtilise assessment management systems and software for scheduling and result processing.Ensure the security and confidentiality of assessment-related data.
Qualifications and SkillsBachelor's degree (preferred in a relevant field).Exceptional skills in analysing data on MS Excel.Identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in data sets, providing actionable insights and recommendations.Previous experience in assessment administration or a related role is preferred.Experience of Project Management desirable.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy.Proficiency in using assessment database systems (VLE) and Microsoft Office Suite.
