Full Job Description

Join PwC as an International Employment Tax Manager within our national Employment Tax team, part of the fast-growing Reward & Employment practice. You'll advise large, complex employers across public and private sectors on international employment tax risks, regulatory and legislative change, and employer compliance as they recruit and expand globally. Working in a technology-enabled environment, you'll help deliver innovative, efficient employment tax services covering employment taxes, multi-jurisdiction withholding and social security obligations on cash, expenses, benefits and share-based remuneration, plus international employment status considerations. This role suits a technically strong manager able to apply wide-ranging international employment tax capabilities. What your days will look like

  • Collaborate with PwC teams across the UK and multiple jurisdictions, advising clients in a wide range of sectors and countries on complex international employment tax matters.
  • Manage a varied client portfolio, providing consulting services, technical advice and analysis on employer compliance, including withholding, social security, benefits, expenses, cash and share-based remuneration.
  • Draft technically complex advice, supervise junior colleagues, support their personal and technical development, and undertake research on tax cases, legislation and HMRC consultations.
  • Track regulatory change and best practice, develop thought leadership, build internal and external networks, promote the PwC brand, identify new service opportunities and support client proposals.

You bring strong subject matter expertise in international employment taxes, advising employers on obligations across multiple jurisdictions, and are CTA/ACA qualified or hold an international equivalent.
  • Your experience comes from an in-house role, global mobility position or advisory role in the international employment taxes space.
  • You understand international social security and how it interacts with UK employer National Insurance obligations.
  • You have employer compliance experience covering business visitors, cross-border commuters and non-resident directors.
  • You can advise on cross-border equity, deferred compensation and bonus sourcing for PAYE and National Insurance.
  • You understand how double tax treaties interact with employer withholding obligations and can apply that knowledge practically.

In order to be the leading professional services firm it's important we have the right values, culture and behaviours embedded throughout our organisation, so our work reflects our purpose and we can successfully deliver our strategy.
  • Our values set the expectations for the way we interact with each other, our clients, and in the communities in which we operate. These values, and the behaviours that they require from us, are relevant to all our people regardless of grade. They support a culture that empowers our people to be the best they can be, through challenging experiences and encouraging our people to speak up to make the firm a better place. We want all our people to understand and embrace the culture and personally feel part of the legacy this will create for our future employees. We're a hugely diverse business, bound together by our purpose - to build trust in society and solve important problems for our clients and the communities in which we operate. We believe we can make the biggest impact when our purpose is embedded within everything we do.
