Please note in regards to location this role can be based anywhere in the UK and this is a fixed term position for up to 12 monthsWorking hours: Minimum of 35 hours per weekSalary information: £34,854 per annum (working a minimum of 40% across each month at our London Headquarters) or £31,119 per annum (working less than 40% attendance at our London Office)Interview Date: To be confirmedJoin The Salvation Army's Anti Trafficking and Modern Slavery Unit (ATMSU) and help ensure potential victims of modern slavery receive a professional, informed response and are supported to be referred into the National Referral Mechanism (NRM). In this role you will coordinate and monitor NRM referrals, undertake First Responder interviews (including by phone or as legal visits where required), and strengthen practice across England and Wales through training and support.What you will do:Respond to requests to refer potential victims into the NRM.Monitor, record and direct requests for First Responder
interviews and allocate appropriately.Conduct First Responder interviews, including using interpreters where needed.Liaise with prisons/IRC/DC officials to enable legal visits or calls to complete NRM referrals where required.Advise on referral-related issues and take responsibility for complex referrals.Maintain accurate, compliant records and contribute to agreed reporting requirements.Liaise with interpreter providers, legal teams and other partners to support timely, effective referrals (including around court dates).Act as a point of contact to support the Single Competent Authority (SCA) with reasonable and conclusive grounds decisions, including requesting reconsideration when appropriate.Support Police Operations by sourcing First Responders to attend reception centres when required.Design and deliver volunteer First Responder training, ensuring volunteers feel supported and resourced.What you will bring:Knowledge of modern slavery in the UK, the Modern Slavery Act, and the
National Referral Mechanism (NRM).Understanding of The Salvation Army's Modern Slavery and Anti-Trafficking work.Experience supporting vulnerable people, including risk assessment and safe practice.Ability to carry out sensitive, trauma-informed interviews with careful, thoughtful questioning (including understanding the complexity of lived experiences).Confidence using interpreters appropriately.Experience working with volunteers in dispersed locations.Strong organisation skills with the ability to prioritise, work independently, show initiative and meet deadlines.Strong communication skills (one-to-one interviewing, public speaking and presenting).Good IT skills (e.g., Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and confidence recording/managing data in required systems.Flexibility to meet service needs (including some evenings and weekends).Our Values: You will be expected to model our values of integrity, accountability, compassion, passion, respect and boldness, and be able to work within the
