Full Job Description
As a Trainee Estate Caretaker, you will be based at one of our estates, working in communal areas within our high and low rise residential accommodation blocks, and other areas on our council estates. Undertaking a wide variety of interesting, varied and rewarding tasks including, caretaking, cleaning, environmental maintenance, removal of fly-tipping, refuse and graffiti, kerb appeal work, health and safety, painting, and a focus on customer services activities - you could say it's a different job every day! You will provide assistance to customers with general housing related queries, liaising with Neighbourhood Caretakers, Area Neighbourhood Caretakers and other Council colleagues. You will also liaise with other organisations in order to maintain the local environment such as Repair contractors and Waste Management. You will be a great listener and communicator and be able to understand and interpret instructions. You will be required to make day to day decisions regarding site safety and you must be able to deal with any issues that arise in a calm, professional manner, have a 'can-do' improvement-focused attitude, along with a desire to keep learning. You will also be enthusiastic, flexible and adaptable. We will support you in your role by providing all the training you will need, this includes qualifications in Cleaning, Health and Safety, COSHH and Infection Prevention and Control.
