Full Job Description

We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for a Case Worker to join Bracknell Forest Council's Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG) Service on a full-time, permanent basis. This varied and rewarding role plays a vital part in delivering both mandatory and discretionary grants, making a real difference by supporting disabled and vulnerable residents to live safely, independently and with confidence in their own homes.

At Bracknell Forest, we pride ourselves on being a council which is stable and well-managed where our employees can thrive in a supportive environment. We understand the importance of a healthy work-life balance and offer a variety of flexible working practices, including options for remote working and arrangements that allow you to work from home, dependent on the needs of the service.

About you...
Partnering with occupational therapists, surveyors, contractors and housing providers, you will help deliver life-changing housing adaptations, manage grant applications, analyse tenders and ensure works are completed to specification. Using your working knowledge of housing adaptations and relevant legislation, you will maintain accurate records, attend site visits and assist in preparing clear technical documentation.

You will bring together technical know-how, efficient administration and great customer care, staying organised and detail-focused while supporting people with their housing applications. We are ideally looking for someone with experience across housing, construction or social care who would like to see the direct, positive impact of their work in the community.

About the team...
The Disabled Facilities Grant team is a small but busy team providing an extensive and responsive service to clients. We support each other by working closely together to achieve the right results and to deliver a holistic service to clients.

We have strong teams and excellent manager relationships. Expert advice is there whenever you need it. Put simply, a career with us means having everything you need to build on your skills. To build better relationships and even better communities.

While the main office base is Time Square, Bracknell, this is an agile working role. Home visits and on-site work will be required based on the needs of the role and service delivery.

Key responsibilities...
To undertake all required activities in support of the functions of the DFG service, these include requests from residents and referrals from occupational therapists for mandatory and discretionary grants.
