The Cellular Pathology department is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, motivated, and versatile individual to take up the part time post of Departmental Secretary and Admin Assistant for the Cervical Screening Programme Lead and Thames Valley External Quality Assurance Scheme, in our professional and friendly team.

This position is a job share and offers the opportunity to work across the Divisions of Core Clinical Support Services and Women's and Children's Services.

You will be a member of the administration team supporting the delivery of an efficient, high quality Cellular Pathology service. The key elements of this role are varied and include the provision of an efficient secretarial service to the Consultant Histopathologists, including the entry of diagnostic reports and the typing of medical correspondence., 'We care We communicate We collaborate We contribute'

To work closely with the Trust Cervical Screening Programme Leads (CSPL) ensuring effective communication with all stakeholders guaranteeing meetings, minutes and action plans are updated and communicated effectively.

To work closely with the Thames Valley External Quality Assurance (EQA) scheme clinical leads and participants to ensure the delivery of an effective QA scheme ensuring accurate, timely and professional communication throughout the year. Manipulation of an Access database in accordance with a standard operating procedure will be required.

The suitable candidate will work as part of a team of admin, scientific and support staff to deliver a diagnostic service that meets accreditation & regulatory requirements to deliver safe and effective patient care.

o To support the delivery of a high quality, responsive and comprehensive administrative service for Cellular Pathology, the trust and its users.

o To work closely with the Consultant Histopathologists in the provision of a quality secretarial service that meets service demands.

o To have an oversight of administrative requests coming into the department and to take relevant action to ensure requests are dealt with in a timely manner.
