Easton College is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join our successful team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who enjoys working with young people and is passionate about supporting student achievement. The role plays a vital part in ensuring continuity of learning when teaching staff are absent, helping learners remain engaged, motivated and on track to succeed.

About the Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise students during timetabled learning sessions in the absence of teaching staff, creating a positive, safe and productive learning environment. You will support learners with activities prepared by curriculum teams, encourage independent learning and provide guidance to help students develop their study skills and confidence.

Working closely with curriculum colleagues, you will contribute to a high-quality learner experience and help students achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

·       Supervise classes and maintain a safe, orderly and productive learning environment.

·       Support individual students and groups using learning materials provided by teaching staff.

·       Encourage learner engagement and independent study.

·       Help students understand tasks and develop effective approaches to their work.

·       Provide targeted support and intervention where required.

·       Work collaboratively with curriculum teams to support course delivery.

·       Assist with the preparation of learning resources and departmental administration.

·       Support examination invigilation when required.

·       Maintain accurate records and contribute to Individual Learning Plans (ILPs).

·       Contribute to quality improvement and learner success across the College.

About You

We are looking for someone who is student-focused, adaptable and committed to making a positive difference to learners' educational experience.

You will have experience of supporting young people or learners in an educational setting and be confident communicating with individuals from a wide range of backgrounds. Strong organisational skills, resilience and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team are essential.

Essential Requirements

·       Level 2 qualifications in English and Maths (or willingness to achieve with College support within 12 months).

·       Recent experience of working with students or young people.

·       Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

·       The ability to motivate and engage learners.

·       A collaborative and flexible approach to work.

·       Commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion.

·       Commitment to continuous professional development.

Why Join Us?

At Easton College, we are proud to provide an inclusive and supportive environment where both staff and students thrive. You will be joining a dedicated team committed to delivering outstanding learning experiences and supporting learners to achieve their ambitions.
