The Talent set is delighted to be partnering with The Army Benevolent Fund in the search for their Community Fundraising and Engagement Manager. The Army Benevolent Fund (ABF) is the Army's national charity, supporting soldiers, veterans, and their immediate families in times of need. Founded in 1944, their purpose is to provide a lifetime of support to serving soldiers, former soldiers, and their families when they are in need, ensuring they can avoid hardship and enjoy independence and dignity. The Charity operates a regional structure across England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland, with its central office in London. This is an exciting opportunity to join the ABF in a key managerial role, working with the Assistant Director to shape and grow community fundraising and engagement activities with audiences, including the Army family, across the UK. The individual will work closely with the ABF's regional teams with particular responsibility for oversight of their Volunteer and Army Engagement aspects. The role

  • Develop and implement effective community fundraising strategies to increase income and support the charity's objectives
  • Cultivate relationships with individual supporters, volunteers, and community groups to enhance engagement and participation.
  • Plan, execute, and evaluate fundraising events and campaigns, ensuring maximum participation and impact.
  • Analyse fundraising data to identify opportunities for growth and optimise current initiatives.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to enhance outreach efforts and promote their mission.
  • Maintain accurate records of donor and supporter engagement, ensuring excellent stewardship and ongoing communication.

    Proven experience in community fundraising, volunteer management with strong stakeholder engagement expertise.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to plan and manage multiple campaigns simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with a collaborative approach.
  • Analytically minded, capable of using data to inform decision-making and optimise performance.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating adaptability and resilience.
  • A passion for the organisation's cause and a commitment to ethical, inclusive practices.

    Salary: £46,675. After a probationary period of 6 months, the successful candidate will benefit from the Charity's full range of employment benefits including an income protection scheme and an employer contribution pension. There will also be opportunities to participate in key Charity events and activities with a TOIL scheme in place.
  • This is a full-time post for 35 hours per week, on a permanent contract based at the Charity's Office in London Victoria (The Charity currently operates a minimum of 2 days in the office).
