We are recruiting a Community Engagement Officer on behalf of a respected professional membership organisation. This is an excellent opportunity for an organised, personable and proactive individual to join a busy membership and engagement team, supporting professional communities, committees, working groups and a varied programme of events and educational initiatives. The successful candidate will enjoy building relationships, facilitating online communities and ensuring the smooth coordination and delivery of membership activities, webinars and events. The Role Reporting to the Head of Membership & Engagement, you will provide operational and administrative support across the organisation's committees, working groups, membership communities and programmes. Working closely with colleagues and volunteer groups, your responsibilities will include:

- Managing and moderating online membership communities, welcoming new participants, encouraging discussion and ensuring content is appropriate and engaging.
- Acting as a first point of contact for event and webinar enquiries, managing shared inboxes and responding to member and delegate queries.
- Supporting the end-to-end administration and logistical delivery of webinars and events, including platform setup, speaker liaison, presentation management and live event support.
- Managing post-event feedback surveys, CPD certificates and delegate communications.
- Maintaining event calendars, trackers and relevant website information, ensuring details are accurate and up to date.

- Identifying opportunities to improve administrative processes, member communications and the overall experience for volunteers and members.
- Supporting the organisation at conferences and events as required.
We are seeking an experienced administrator or membership professional with excellent organisational, communication and relationship management skills. You will ideally have: - Experience in online community management or moderation, such as professional forums, membership platforms or online groups.
- A proven background in administration, ideally within a membership, events, committee, community or programme support environment.
- Strong customer service skills, including experience managing shared inboxes and responding to enquiries professionally and efficiently.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including accurate minute-taking, proofreading and correspondence.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage several priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
- The confidence to build relationships with senior professionals, volunteers and a diverse membership community.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office, and the ability to learn new digital systems quickly.
- Basic experience updating website content through a CMS and supporting online event promotion.
- An understanding of GDPR and good data management practices. Experience of supporting committees and working groups, administering webinars or coordinating events would be advantageous. Experience within a professional body, learned society or membership organisation would also be beneficial. Familiarity with platforms such as Discourse, Freshdesk, Typeform, Canva or Kentico would be useful, although experience with equivalent systems will be considered. You will be a self-starter with a flexible and adaptable approach, able to manage a varied workload independently while working collaboratively with colleagues and volunteers. You will be personable, enthusiastic and highly organised, with excellent communication skills and the confidence to identify opportunities to improve processes and member services. This is a varied role offering the opportunity to make a real contribution to member engagement, community development and the delivery of a busy programme of professional activities.
