Applications are invited for a 12-month appointment as a Clinical Research Fellow in Ophthalmology basedwithin Newcastle Eye Centre at the Royal Victoria Infirmary. The main aim of this post is to assist with a number of clinical trials and to develop new areas of clinical research. Currently ongoing trials are primarily in the fields of medical and surgical retina, oculoplastic and orbital surgery and glaucoma. The post has a good track record of providing clinical and research experience and giving opportunity for presentations and publications. Previous candidates have gone on to secure prestigious clinical fellowships. The department has a thriving research team, and is well resourced with excellent diagnostic retinal imaging equipment. There may be an opportunity for cataract surgery and bespoke clinical exposure, alongside the research activities, depending on interests and experience.
