Biomedical Scientist

In this role, you would encounter a wide range of interesting cases daily; you would be part of the BMS team reporting on blood film morphology for a wide range of conditions. In our Blood Transfusion Department, you would be fully engaged with special requirement crossmatching to support our busy Clinical Haematology Unit. In Special Coagulation centralised on this site, you would be carrying out very specialist haemostasis analyses. As an added responsibility, you would be the Department's Health and Safety Co-ordinator- Training would be provided for this additional task.The laboratory also operates a 24-hour-seven- day -a-week service and therefore full participation on the roster is required for all contractual Weekend (2-3 of these shifts per six-week rota) and Late evening shifts (2-3 of these per week). It is an essential requirement that applicants are HCPC state registered with a significant post registration experience in an ISO 15189 accredited laboratory. NWLP Induction The NWLP induction will run on the first Monday of each month (provided it does not fall on a bank holiday) and includes laboratory training (for relevant laboratory roles). All new staff must attend the NWLP induction during their first week with NWLP.
