Senior Associate - Legal & Compliance (Maternity Cover) West London (Fully Office-Based) £29,000 per annum We are seeking a Senior Associate to join a busy Legal & Compliance team on a maternity cover contract. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with a legal or compliance background to gain broad exposure across regulatory, advisory, and operational legal matters within a financial services environment. The Role Reporting to the Assistant Manager, Legal & Compliance, you will support the Legal & Compliance function by coordinating with external advisors and providing guidance on legal and regulatory matters across the business. Key Responsibilities Liaise with external advisors on legal and regulatory compliance matters
Provide guidance to the business on routine legal and compliance queries
Draft and review compliance policies, procedures, and controls
Maintain regulatory correspondence registers and supporting documentation
Respond to requests from courts, regulators, and enforcement agencies within required timeframes
Conduct horizon scanning and map regulatory changes across the business
Prepare updates and newsletters for Compliance, Business, and Operations teams
Review legal court orders and support committee reporting processes
Support oversight and monitoring activities across Legal & Compliance
Approve financial promotions in line with regulatory standards
Manage relationships with external legal panels and advisors
Compile reports for senior management

Support ad hoc legal and compliance projects Key Skills & Experience Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
Good administrative and communication abilities
Strong research and problem-solving skills
Solid understanding of legal and regulatory frameworks
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines Person Profile Graduate with a legal background (LPC preferred)
Minimum 2 years' experience in legal, compliance, or regulatory roles
Experience within financial services or banking is advantageous
Able to work independently and collaboratively across teams Key Stakeholders Internal teams including Business, Operations, and support functions
External advisors, legal panel firms, and consultancies
Regulators and enforcement agencies
Third-party partners
