An opportunity has arisen within the Blood Sciences Department at Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital for a Haematology Advanced Practitioner (AfC Band 7). We also welcome expressions of interest for a developmental Band 6 role from suitably qualified Specialist Biomedical Scientists currently working within Blood Sciences (Haematology,Blood Transfusion, Chemistry and Immunology) who are seeking progression.

For the developmental pathway, the successful Band 6 applicant must hold an IBMS Specialist Portfolio and will be supported to develop the required advanced knowledge and competencies in Haematology, with a structured 12-month programme in place to facilitate progression to Haematology Advanced Practitioner (Band 7).

Candidates entering the role at Band 7 grade will be expected to hold FIBMS, equivalent MSc or IBMS HSD, although candidates nearing completion of the above or with extensive experience are invited to apply.

The Path Links Pathology network receives work from the whole of Lincolnshire. Path Links encompasses Scunthorpe, Goole, Lincoln, Boston, Grimsby and Grantham Hospitals. The Grimsby laboratory is a busy, fast-paced working environment, with excellent training opportunities. We are a large, friendly and welcoming team., You will be required to have good communication skills and the ability to work under pressure. Previous experience of staff training is essential asis experience of UKAS ISO:15189. The successful candidate will work in a busy blood sciences laboratory supporting the blood sciences manager with the day to day management.
