Job ref: b74925a1998d4b48aa35fdb899134adb

Full Job Description

As a senior AI/ML engineer, you'll play a key role in shaping how we use AI across the business. You'll design and build scalable data pipelines and machine learning models, and turn them into products and services that create real value for our teams and customers. You'll be hands-on with cutting-edge tools in Microsoft Fabric, Azure Machine Learning and MLflow, and collaborate with analytics engineers, data scientists, product managers and software developers to deliver data products that power customer interactions and drive insight.

This is a role for someone who enjoys solving complex problems, mentoring others, and driving innovation in a fast-moving environment.

What you'll do :

Build and maintain end-to-end AI/ML data pipelines in Microsoft Fabric, from ingestion and transformation through to model deployment and monitoring
Design and develop machine learning and deep learning models to solve real business challenges and improve decision-making
Deploy models via Azure ML and MLflow, track performance and retrain where needed
Establish MLOps best practices: versioned data & features, reproducible training, CI/CD, promotion gates, canary/blue green deploys, rollback
Work closely with colleagues across data science, analytics and the wider business to identify opportunities and turn them into AI-driven products and dashboards
Uphold data quality, governance and security throughout the AI/ML lifecycle
Implement model monitoring (latency, drift, cost), alerts, runbooks and validation and tuning processes to ensure accuracy and reliability. Agree SLOs with the platform team
Evaluate and adopt new tools and practices to enhance our MLOps stack and modernise our platform
Work with the data scientists to apply AI responsibly through evaluation plans, bias/fairness checks, model cards
Support and mentor junior colleagues, sharing knowledge and fostering a culture of collaboration

Strong experience designing, building and maintaining scalable data pipelines and architectures for AI/ML
Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric (Data Engineering, Data Science, Real-Time Analytics) and Azure ML, including MLflow
Proficiency with tools such as Apache Spark, Azure Data Factory, GIT, Python and SQL
Skilled in developing, training and deploying machine learning models with frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch or Scikit-learn
Strong understanding of data modelling, data governance, security and responsible AI practices
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to varied audiences
Ability to manage priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment

Desirable

Experience with generative AI, large language models (e.g. LangChain, vector databases) and retrieval-augmented generation
Knowledge of AutoML, hyperparameter tuning and advanced MLflow features
Experience with streaming and real-time data platforms
Familiarity with CI/CD, MLOps and deployment pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Docker)
Commercial awareness in e-commerce, travel or holiday-lettings sectors
Experience mentoring others or leading technical workstreams

About you :

Curious, innovative and passionate about data and AI
A team player who values collaboration and honest communication
Able to take ownership, work independently and deliver on commitments
Supportive and approachable, with a willingness to share knowledge
Committed to building ethical AI solutions that respect privacy, security and sustainability

Annual STIP Company-wide Bonus Scheme offering up to an additional 10% of your salary through our performance-based bonus program
33 days holiday (incl. bank hols) + extra days for long service
Your birthday off
2 paid volunteering days
Enhanced Maternity and Paternity Leave - (24 weeks maternity, 3 weeks paternity at 100% pay)
B Corp certified - we care about people & planet
Exclusive holiday discounts for you, friends, and family
Wellbeing perks, gym access at HQ, health cash plan
Hybrid working & on-site parking
