Full Job Description
Are you someone with a keen interest in technology, great communication skills, and good attention to detail. Looking for your first step into a secure tech environment with real growth potential? This could be the opportunity you've been waiting for! We're looking for an enthusiastic, hands-on Low Side Technician to join our busy and friendly team supporting over 20,000 UK devices across a high-security site in Cheltenham. You will play a key part in securing national infrastructure by keeping mobile devices safe, updated, and accounted for. This is a perfect entry point for someone with no previous technical experience, but a genuine interest in IT and customer service, and a willingness to learn on the job. You'll receive full support and training from an experienced team as you build real-world skills in mobile device management, asset control, and service operations. This role is office based 5 days a week in Cheltenham. What You'll Be Doing
- Provision, configure and support laptops, tablets, and phones across a secure estate.
- Sanitise, build, track, and distribute devices daily.
- Take ownership of incidents, service requests, and hardware refreshes (approx. 2,000 devices per year).
- Handle administration tasks such as logging assets, updating systems, and coordinating disposal.
- Use mobile device management (MDM) tools to remotely control and update systems.
- Work closely with colleagues across departments and interact with customers every day. What you'll bring: You don't need technical experience, just the right attitude:
- A real interest in IT, mobile devices, or technology.
- Comfortable communicating with various team members and dealing with customer services.
- Comfortable working in a structured, repetitive role with a solid focus on accuracy.
- Willingness to follow detailed processes and strict security protocols.
- Reliable, self-motivated and keen to grow. Due to the nature of the work, you must hold active DV clearance to apply. If you are interested in this role but not sure if your skills and experience are exactly what we're looking for, please do apply, we'd love to hear from you! Although this role is advertised as full-time, we believe that flexibility at work can promote work/life balance, increase your motivation, reduce stress and improves performance and productivity. We support different ways of working and can offer a range of flexible working arrangements. So, if you're interested and need to work flexibly, we encourage you to apply and talk to us about what might be possible. Loved reading about this job and want to know more about us?
