Full Job Description
A Lead Oracle Integrations Cloud Engineer is a senior technical role responsible for overseeing the design, development, implementation, and management of integration solutions using Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC) services. This role can include leadership and mentoring of a small team of developers, ensuring that integration projects are delivered efficiently, securely, and in line with business requirements and best practices! Flexible Working Options This role is open to flexible working patterns, these may include: Job share, Flexible start and end time to each day, ability to adapt calendar as needed, this could be to fit in the school run, gym, or appointments. A 50% in-office attendance requirement can be spread across the month to accommodate diverse working patterns, such as the flexibility to purchase a weekly train ticket for certain weeks, compressed hours (subject to approval and policy within the team), working from abroad policy (subject to approval and policy within the team). A Day in the Role On any given day you will be supporting a broad range of services, which might include the following:
- Lead the development and refinement of the Bank's integrations built using OIC aligning with business goals and IT architecture + Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, functional teams, and business analysts to understand their requirements and translate them into technical specifications. + Design end-to-end integration solutions using OIC, ensuring scalability, performance, security, and alignment to best practices. + Develop high-level integration architecture and technical design documentation that is aligned with the overall IT architecture and compliance standards.
- Monitor integration performance metrics, identify bottlenecks, and optimize integrations for improved efficiency.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex integration issues, perform root cause analysis, and provide expert support and maintenance.
- Handle APIs exposed through Oracle Integration Cloud, including security, throttling, and monitoring.
- Manage changes to existing integrations in accordance with Bank's change management processes.
- Act as the main technical point of contact for Oracle Cloud integration and reporting projects.
- Effectively communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences. Role Requirements The Lead Oracle Integrations Cloud Engineer will play a pivotal role in leading the design, development, and implementation of robust and scalable integration solutions leveraging Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC) and other Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) services. This individual will be a subject matter expert in integration patterns and best practices, collaborating closely with business stakeholders and other technical teams to ensure seamless connectivity between OIC and various cloud and/or on-premise applications. They will also be responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting and enhancing the existing integrations used by Oracle SaaS modules in HR, Finance and Procurement., Within DGCIO CS&G you will work with people who are passionate about delivering high quality products and services. Unlike many large organisations, we provide both engineering and development in-house and this internal expertise allows us to understand the diverse needs of our historic institution, and work using agile methodologies to deliver them. You'll focus on providing quality systems and services that matter to the nation's economy. Payment, Analytical, Supervision and Central Functions systems, we develop and support them all as part of our broad remit. Collaborating closely with colleagues across Technology and throughout the organization; you will help deliver safe and supportable services which underpin business processes. Digital Enterprise Services Domain The DES Domain is accountable for the provision of enterprise systems and services that support core business and technology functions across the Bank. It supports the following key platforms:
- Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Platform that includes but is not exclusive to ERP and Human Capital Management (HCM) including core HR, payroll, order processing, accounting, budgeting and resource management
- Power Platform and Application Cloud Services for services such as core Bank-wide D365, RTGS, PRA supervision and customer contact information and insight, Azure applications including the Bank's website hosted in Azure using Kubernetes.
Extensive hands-on experience in a similar Lead role focusing on Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC). - Demonstrable expertise in designing, developing, and deploying integrations using OIC, including orchestrations, connections, adapters, and transformations.
- Significant experience with Oracle Fusion Cloud applications (e.g., ERP, HCM, SCM) and their integration capabilities (APIs, Events, Files, FBDI, HDL).
- Demonstrated use of BI Publisher to pull data from Oracle Fusion SaaS modules into OIC workflows for integration with downstream platforms
- Hands on background in error handling, logging, and monitoring in integration solutions. Essential Criteria We are interested in hearing from candidates who have the following capabilities:
- Significant overall experience in software development, with a solid focus on integration solutions.
- Deep technical skills in Oracle Integration Cloud services, as well as related technologies such as REST, SOAP, XML, JSON.
- Proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL programming for complex data manipulation and integration processes.
- Superb communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. It would also be beneficial, but not necessary, to have some of the following:
- Understanding of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) for secure and scalable integration deployments.
- Experience with other integration platforms (e.g., MuleSoft, Dell Boomi, Informatica Cloud).
- Knowledge of Oracle Visual Builder Cloud Service (VBCS) or Oracle Application Express (APEX).
- Experience with agile development methodologies.
- Ability to provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior team members.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools and practices in a cloud environment.
- Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC) related certifications (OCI Certified Application Integration Professional).
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
