Full Job Description
You will report to the Business Applications and Systems Development Manager, who will provide guidance and mentoring to support your transition from university into a professional IT environment. You will work alongside experienced colleagues across the department and gain valuable exposure to full system lifecycles, from initial design through to ongoing maintenance.
This is a hands-on role with a mix of development and support work, offering an excellent foundation for a career in software development.
Main Responsibilities:
Assist in the development, support, and maintenance of internal applications and system integrations.
Help investigate and resolve issues raised by staff and students via email, phone, or remote access tools.
Work alongside developers and wider IT teams to deliver effective solutions.
Learn to manage the full lifecycle of systems, from planning and design through to testing and implementation.
Contribute to documentation, testing, and quality assurance processes.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Graduate Developer to join our Information Services Team. This role is a fantastic opportunity to gain real-world experience and develop your technical skills while contributing to the delivery and support of essential University systems., A degree (or expected degree) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related subject.
A working knowledge of C#, Microsoft SQL Server and interactions with APIs.
A keen interest in software development and learning new technologies.
Strong attention to detail with good problem-solving skills.
Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
Desirable (but not essential)
Previous experience in a support or development role (e.g. via a placement, internship, or part-time job).
Familiarity with version control tools (e.g. Git, TFS), Agile working practices, or integration platforms.
