Full Job Description
(Line Manager to add/ delete as appropriate to business area) 1. Software Development
- Writing, testing, and debugging code in languages like .net.
- Implementing features based on requirements and design specifications.
- Following best coding practices and industry standards. 2. Learning & Development
- Gaining proficiency in relevant technologies, frameworks, and tools.
- Participating in code reviews and feedback sessions.
- Understanding software development methodologies like Agile and Scrum. 3. Collaboration & Communication
- Working closely with senior developers, product managers, designers and business analysts.
- Attending team meetings and stand-ups to discuss progress.
- Documenting code, processes, and technical findings. 4. Testing & Debugging
- Writing unit and integration tests to ensure code reliability.
- Debugging and troubleshooting software issues.
- Assisting in quality assurance (QA) processes. 5. Version Control & Deployment
- Using Git/TFS for version control.
- Assisting in Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Learning about cloud services and deployment strategies. 6. Problem-Solving & Innovation
- Researching and implementing new technologies.
- Identifying and suggesting improvements to existing codebases.
- Contributing to brainstorming and problem-solving sessions. Learning & Development Completion of core learning modules, including financial services regulation, professional behaviours, and internal systems/processes. Active participation in technical or operational training aligned with your role (e.g., coding, data analysis, process improvement, systems training). Regular reviews with line managers and mentors to support continuous development. Encouraged to work towards relevant professional qualifications (where applicable). Recent graduate (or final-year student) with a degree in any discipline - STEM or business-related fields preferred for certain role. To be expecting or have achieved a 2.2 degree classification or above. A strong interest in financial services and a desire to develop a career in technology, customer services or operations. Analytical and problem-solving mindset, with attention to detail. Proactive attitude with strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to learn new systems and concepts quickly. Demonstrated adaptability and willingness to take on new challenges.
