Full Job Description
Day to Day Responsibilities for Maintenance Person:
- You will join our brilliant Maintenance Team and carry out the day-to-day maintenance of the Home and its services and grounds/gardens, to ensure that it is safe and desirable place for our residents to live and team members to work in.
- This will involve a combination of completing regular maintenance checks, day to day maintenance tasks, completing more superficial refurbishment projects (e.g. bedrooms & living spaces) autonomously, and periodically assisting the Maintenance & Refurbishment Support Manager with more involved refurbishment projects (e.g. ensuites, bathrooms, laundry rooms etc.)
- You will be responsible to ensure the action plans of all the annual Bedroom & Communal maintenance audits are completed by the Compliance Support Manager are signed off within 3 months and rooms scores are in line with the latest quarterly targets.
- Ensure available rooms are decorated and turned around within 3 days of being vacant and ensure the exterior of our care home is always presentable and homely.
Ability to work to tight deadlines - Ability to manage pressure and conflicting demands, and prioritise tasks
- Ability to organise own time and workload
- Ability to methodically complete checklists of work and maintenance checks
- Self-motivated, General maintenance knowledge / experience as per checklist in the Job Description (e.g. minor electrical, decorating, plumbing, joinery work etc.)
- Hold a clean driving licence and use of a car
- Live within 20 minutes of the Home Preferred Requirements for Maintenance Person:
- Modest IT skills, including ability to email, print documents, scan documents, save documents with appropriate file names and fill in basic excel spreadsheets. Training can be provided for this if necessary
- Hold a Level 2 or above (e.g. in Maintenance or Facilities Management), Well over half our team have a relevant Diploma qualification with another fifth currently studying for one
- We have a 4.8 star rating (out of 5.0) on Indeed as a top employer
- We have Good and Outstanding Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspection reports
South Moor Lodge is located in the idyllic village of Walkeringham (5 miles to the West of Gainsborough). The home is centred around a nineteenth century barn, which has been selectively extended in keeping with its character. This provides the homeliness that Jasmine seeks for its homes, whilst still providing modern living accommodation. The home sits within two acres of landscaped grounds, and provides personal and dementia care for 41 residents.
