Summary
We are looking for an experienced, caring and motivated individual to lead a supported Living service providing support for 7 tenants providing personalised support to people with learning disabilities and complex mental health needs living in their own homes. The supported living service provides 24 hour support and is set in one of Carlisle's most desirable addresses, convenient for Stanwix, parkland and the city centre.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience of working with people that are experiencing mental health problems and learning disabilities either in a community or supported Living setting. You will have skills in positive engagement, knowledge of positive behavioral support with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Candidates will need to understand the principles of the recovery model, have a good working knowledge of mental health diagnosis and legislation. You must feel able to confidently communicate and participate in support planning with members of multi-disciplinary teams. You will have excellent leadership, planning and coordination skills. The role will also involve direct support, staff deployment and supervision and joint working with families and other agencies. You will have the responsibility of coordinating our staff team to ensure our service users enjoy the highest quality of life whilst promoting independence. You will be required to work flexibly to include evenings and weekends as part of a rota to meet individual's needs, (This is a 37.5 hour per week post).
Candidates must have a minimum of Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social qualification. We welcome applicants who have a relevant social care degree or qualified social worker.
