Full Job Description
Overview of role: Initially, Dylan's Buddy will spend time with him and his mum to help him feel safe and comfortable. Building trust is essential before transitioning to spending time apart from his family on weekends. Weekend shifts typically begin around 10/11 a.m. and finish around 5/6 p.m. Activities will vary from fun outings to more routine tasks like shopping, followed by lunch at places like Pizza Express. Depending on how Dylan's week has gone, there may be bigger outings, such as trips to theme parks, so a love for fast rides is a definite plus! on rainy days or quieter weekends, Dylan will enjoy watching Marvel, Transformers and diving into Disney, his favourites. Showing off his dinosaur knowledge or building Lego creations with his Buddy. Who this job would suit: This role is ideal for someone with solid, hands-on experience supporting teenagers with ASC and ADHD. The right person will bring practical tools and strategies to support Dylan, continue building his self-esteem and life skills, you will be a role model and advocate. Someone currently working in a school setting would be a great fit, as there will be additional hours available during school holidays.
