At Kisimul we know caring is not just a skill, it's much more, it's a gift, your personal gift that you willingly give and share with others. Know what we mean? Then we're on the look-out for amazing carers like you. Kisimul provide exceptional services for adults with autism, learning disabilities and complex needs, through our registered schools, college and care homes in Lincolnshire.

  • We'll Grow Together - developing professional skills, pay and qualifications.
  • Supporting you to Think Forward - to create an exciting and rewarding career for your future.

About the Role

As a Support Worker/ Life Practitioner you'll be an integral part of the team, teaching young people life skills in context and support them to integrate these skills. We'll give you all the training you'll need. You'll contribute to and promote the development of young peoples' communication, self-help, and independence skills - undertaking actions devised by other specialist colleagues, such as speech therapists and educational psychologists and providing feedback on sessions. Plus, support individuals with maintaining and improving their health and supporting emotional needs, always promoting increased independence. Support Workers participate in a wide range of innovative and exciting recreational activities such as trips to the Safari Park, fun fairs or local restaurants.

Our new care model is groundbreaking. Meaningful life is our innovative new model - an industry first. Providing care and education to people we support is at the centre of all our decision making, with the ambition to enable them to fulfil their most meaningful life. We bring all our specialist teams together from education, therapies and care and put the people we support right in the centre of our family of experts to deliver a meaningful life.

About You

If you have a background in care work, great, we'll work with you to develop you to where you want to get to, however, you don't need a background in care to become a Support Worker, just a caring approach and passion for helping others. We offer flexible hours to suit your family life. Days - 43.5hrs per week. 7.30am and finishing at 8.30pm (1 hour break). The rota pattern is typically a 2-week rota. Week 1 works Mon, Tue, Fri, Sat and Sun. Week 2 works, Wed and Thu.

Choose your career pathways and we'll help build your skills to get you there. Pay progression recognising your professional development and career progression. Many of our senior leaders have been promoted from support roles and we've supported them along the way. We'll pay and support you to learn new skills and to pass your care diploma.

Pay transparency: The Support Worker salary starts at £12.21 ph (Level 1) and goes up to £12.50 ph (Level 2), increasing to £13.00 ph (Level 3) depending on your experience and development. A decision will be made at interview to determine starting salary dependent on experience. We also offer enhanced hourly rates on additional hours, for those who choose to work overtime.
