Norfolk Citizens Advice Foodbank Adviser
Hours: 26 hours per week
Salary: £24335.64 per annum (£17,100.27 Pro-rata)
Job Type: Fixed Term to May 2026
Annual Leave: 20 days plus bank holidays & five office closure days
Location: Downham Market Foodbank
Pension: 4.5% Contribution

The Role:
As an NCA Foodbank Adviser, you’ll be the first point of contact for people accessing the Downham Market Foodbank. You’ll complete initial assessments, identify their support needs, and help them access further advice through our Adviser’s or external services
In this varied role, you’ll also handle administrative tasks such as updating client records, responding to emails and calls, and supporting the project team with reporting to funder updates. You’ll work closely with the NCA team, the Trussell Trust, and other partners to help ensure no one faces crisis alone. This is ideal for someone organised, empathetic, and passionate about community impact.
What we are looking for:
We will provide full training.
· Strong listening and questioning skills, with the ability to handle sensitive issues.
· Excellent IT skills – confident using Microsoft Office and digital case systems.
· A collaborative team player who can also manage their workload.
· Clear, professional communication with a diverse range of people.
· Commitment to equality, inclusion, and our charity’s values.
· Flexible and adaptable approach to working in a dynamic environment.
· Experience in advice services or foodbank settings is desirable but not essential
