Full Job Description
EACH is a growing charity providing a range of specialist services to individuals and families affected by mental health, domestic violence and alcohol and substance misuse issues. Our services, and our success, are driven and delivered by a diverse staff and volunteer team, who are as passionate and committed as we are to meeting the needs of our local communities. Team Lead - Harrow Housing Related Support EACH's Harrow Housing Related Support Service incorporates a "Housing First" service with both generic and specialist floating support. The combined service supports promotes tenancy sustainment and prevents homelessness. Housing First is particularly targeted at rough sleepers with complex needs and those who have not sustained temporary or supported accommodation in the past. Our Floating Support Service offers housing related support to all, between 18-64, who may require it with specialist support for those with a history of substance misuse or offending. We are looking for a motivated Project Lead for Harrow Housing Related Support to join our team. As our Project Leader for Harrow Floating Support, you will be responsible for:
- Delivering an effective outreach-based Housing support (Floating support) service to vulnerable adults and families at risk of becoming homeless.
- Providing line management, supervision and leadership.
- Leading the housing services team to support vulnerable people.
- Supporting service users to maintain or regain their independence, and encourage them to settle back into the community.
- Carrying a caseload of clients and lead on on-going support and direction for a number of the team's clients.
Experience of delivering effective support services to vulnerable people. - Experience of working with individuals from BME communities and those from diverse social backgrounds.
- Experience of supporting and supervising support workers, trainees, students or volunteers.
- Experience in supporting vulnerable people in relation to their housing needs, and preventing homelessness, including tenancy support.
- Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and policies and procedures relating to children and vulnerable adults.
- Competency in IT (Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams) including delivering sessions via Zoom, Skype. It is desirable if you have:
- The ability to facilitate or lead on groups, workshops, self-help sessions.
- Experience of supporting people with substance misuse issues and/ or ex-offending history.
- A relevant qualification, e.g. NVQ 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent
- Ability to speak one or more of the following community languages: Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi, Gujarati, Somali, Tamil or Farsi.
