Job Category: Officer
Job Description: Discover yourself in Lewisham where what you do makes a difference to our vibrant and culturally diverse communities! We have a rich history of welcoming people from all over the world and are proud to be recognised as the UK's first Borough of Sanctuary, for our work in championing the rights of refugees and migrants.
Introduction
Are you someone who enjoys working with people to enable them to live their best life? Are you a team player and a good communicator? Are you patient and easy to get along with? Then we would love to hear from you.
What's the role?
We have 2 opportunities to work Friday, Saturday and Sunday or Saturday, Sunday and Monday to work alongside Enablement Officers who support people to become independent following an illness or an emergency. Our staff provide support, care and encouragement to people with their daily living tasks within a short time period. Your role will be to monitor progression, coach staff and liaise with families and professionals to get the most from them during their time with us. You will also be responsible for holding and monitoring your own caseload.
What's in it for you?
Excellent training and development opportunities, plus a range of benefits including:
- Generous holiday allowance
- Local Government Pension scheme
- Flexible working and family friendly policies
- Season ticket and bicycle loans
- A range of staff discounts including local subsidised gym memberships
- Supportive staff networks
What we're looking for
We are keen to hear from you if you have experience of working within a caring/client focussed environment and understand the needs of people who require enablement and rehabilitation. You will be able to manage your own workload and be an excellent time manager. You will have a good level of literacy and assessment skills.
Location
The job is primarily based in Ladywell Centre but we operate a hybrid approach where you will be required to work both in the office and from home on a regular basis. You will have access to an office out of hours in Ladywell.
Special conditions
- Clean driving licence and use of a car
- Weekend working is required for this job
- The job is subject to an enhanced DBS check
The recruitment process is anonymous and we don't accept CV's. Please read the guidance in this handbook when applying. It is essential that you complete the application fully and that your supporting statement covers how you meet each of the person specification criteria listed.
Salary
£33,780 - £34,779 per annum pro rata (SC5) plus weekend enhancements. N.B: All appointments will be offered at the minimum spinal column point (SCP) for the grade of the role. The only exception to this will be when matching current salary (up to the maximum of the scale), which is subject to evidential proof.
