An exciting opportunity has arisen to work as a member of the integrated midwifery teams contributing to the delivery of Better Births for women and their families The Maternity Support Worker will work as a member of the Midwifery Team in the delivery of safe care to women and their babies, within either the hospital or community setting. They will work with individual women, families and within group settings to support the role of the Midwife, throughout pregnancy and the postnatal period. The post holder is also required to undertake routine clerical duties to ensure the smooth running of the midwifery team. You will work under the supervision of the midwife, ensuring that women and their families are provided high quality care in a personalised and friendly environment. As part of the team, your main responsibility will be in delivering support to mothers You will be required to cover all shifts including weekends, Bank Holidays and nights. If you enjoy working within a committed team, are hard working and able to adapt to the many tasks that will be expected of you, we would like to hear from you. We will offer you a period of mentorship and an opportunity to make a difference to the woman and their families who use our service.

This post has been identified as involving access to vulnerable adults and/or children and in line with Trust policy successful applicants will be required to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure Check. Please note that you will be notified via email regarding the result of your application.

If you are appointed to a position within the Trust you will be required to provide original documents to verify your identity prior to your start date. This must be a valid passport or full birth certificate (specifying the names of the holder’s parents) together with proof of your national insurance number. Your contract of employment with the Trust may be invalidated in the event that you are unable to provide this documentation.
