Job Title:         Trainee Fire Alarm Designer

Location:         Colchester

Salary:             Competitive (based on experienced)

Trainee Fire Alarm Designer We are advertising on behalf of a national highly respected Electrical wholesaler with over 350 branches.  They have a newly created and exciting opportunity for a Trainee Fire Alarm Designer to join their specialist team offering fire alarm design for commercial and domestic buildings.

As a Trainee Fire Alarm Designer you will be to support the Technical Sales Rep whilst you learn the rules, regulations, products, programmes, sequences and project specifications whilst also gaining project experience. 

 

Your key duties will include:

  • Undertake in-house training including introduction into system design, CAD and product familiarisation of fire detection and fire alarm systems, voice alarm systems and emergency voice communication systems
  • Supporting the inputting of design requirements into our in-house technology
  • Preparing quotations including collating specification documentations and certificates
  • Once trained answering technical questions from customer

This is a great opportunity for committed individuals to develop a career and with long term goal of becoming and qualified BAFE accredited fire alarm designer

 

Person Specification

  • You must have a good level of qualifications ideally with a Grade C or above in Maths
  • An enthusiastic, technically minded person with desire to learn
  • Excellent IT skills with working knowledge of Microsoft packages including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD either in 2D or 3D would be an advantage but not essential as full training would be given to ultimately become a BAFE accredited fire alarm designer
  • Good communication and time management skills
  • Methodical with attention to detail, with ability to question and have strong problem-solving skills   

This is a full-time position offering an excellent basic salary with a potential for company bonus scheme company pension scheme, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays (rising with service). Core hours of work are 8.00am 5.30pm, Monday to Friday, with a flexibility required.
