We are looking for a Senior Water Scientist who would like to help us reach our mission to "earn customer loyalty and drive business growth by providing consistently excellent service". As the Senior Water Scientist your key responsibilities are

• Oversee, coach and mentor a team to ensure they have the appropriate skills to meet the departments key objectives
• Advise the business on water quality matters, including emergency incidents and investigatory work, when required
• Oversee and deliver regulatory reporting to strict deadlines which includes drinking water safely plans, compliance data, and event reporting
• Manage team projects and investigatory work to ensure delivery against project plans and agreed timelines
• Take action to maintain public health by identifying risks and ensuring that the appropriate remedial measures are taken including liaison with external stakeholders
• To join the water quality standby rota and provide water quality advice and support to the out of hours team
• Deputise for the Head of Water Regulation and Compliance as required., At least the cost of living pay increase every year

  Degree level in appropriate technical discipline
• Full driving licence
• Proven experience of coaching, training and mentoring a team
• Experience within a relevant scientific field, with a strong understanding of water quality regulations, water quality science, water quality customer service and public health issues
• Multi-tasker who can meet deadlines, whilst maintaining a customer focussed work environment
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to handle large amounts of diverse data
