Full Job Description
This is a unique opportunity and a high-impact role where you'll have the opportunity to shape the strategy, build and mentor your own team of marketplace specialists, and drive significant revenue growth and profitability on platforms like Amazon, eBay, and hundreds of others for our clients. A key aspect of this role will be collaborating closely with our sales team, providing marketplace expertise during pitches, and ensuring seamless onboarding of new clients through to the retention and delight of clients. Your Role: As the Head of Marketplaces, you will be the strategic and commercial leader responsible for the growth and performance of our client-facing marketplace division. You will lead and develop a team of marketplace professionals, providing them with the guidance and support they need to excel. Your focus will be on driving client growth and satisfaction through the development and execution of effective marketplace strategies, maximising efficiency, and establishing Visualsoft's reputation as a leader in delivering exceptional marketplace services through the talent and success of your team.,
- Commercial Leadership & Growth: Drive significant revenue growth and profitability for our clients and the agency through the development and execution of effective marketplace strategies. Take ownership of the marketplace department's commercial proposition and ensure the achievement of ambitious commercial targets.
- Team Leadership & Development: Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing team of marketplace experts, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and client-centricity. Empower team members to take ownership, innovate, and deliver exceptional results.
- Client Strategy & Management: Develop and implement tailored marketplace strategies to meet the unique needs and objectives of each client. Cultivate strong, strategic relationships with key clients, acting as a trusted advisor and ensuring their long-term satisfaction.
- Amazon Expertise & Optimisation: Leverage in-depth knowledge of the Amazon ecosystem to drive exceptional client performance through expert management of Amazon SEO, advertising (PPC), promotions, content, and selling strategy.
- Marketplace Expansion & Diversification: Identify and evaluate new marketplace opportunities to expand our client's reach and diversify their revenue streams. Manage the onboarding and integration of new marketplace channels through strategic partnerships.
- Sales Enablement & Collaboration: Work closely with the sales team to provide marketplace expertise during pitches and proposals, develop compelling sales materials, and ensure a smooth handover of new clients to the delivery team.
- Technology & Automation: Evaluate, implement, and optimise the use of marketplace management tools and technologies to automate processes, streamline workflows, and enhance team efficiency.
- Data Analysis & Insights: Drive data-driven decision-making by monitoring and analysing key performance indicators (KPIs), identifying trends and opportunities, and generating actionable insights to optimise campaign performance.
- Innovation & Best Practices: Stay at the forefront of the evolving marketplace landscape, identifying and implementing innovative strategies and best practices to maintain a competitive edge and drive continuous improvement.
Experience: Extensive experience in marketplaces, with a proven track record of success in leading and scaling marketplace strategies, managing high-performing teams, driving significant revenue growth, and demonstrating commercial acumen. - Leadership & Management Skills: Exceptional leadership, management, and mentoring skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and develop team members at all levels, fostering a culture of ownership and accountability.
- Strategic Vision & Commercial Acumen: Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with a visionary approach to developing and implementing effective marketplace strategies and a keen understanding of commercial drivers.
- Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and internal stakeholders, including strong negotiation and influencing skills.
- Industry Expertise: In-depth understanding of the landscape, including various marketplaces, connectors, technologies, and best practices.
- Data Acumen: Strong analytical and data analysis skills, with the ability to interpret complex data, identify key insights, and make data-driven decisions.
- Business Development & Sales Support: Proven ability to identify and capitalise on new business opportunities, build strategic partnerships, and drive revenue growth, including experience supporting sales teams in pitches and proposals.
