Health & Safety Technician

Leeming Bar, Northallerton

Salary Circa £35k

In this role, you’ll help ensure health and safety on-site, working to meet important goals that support both the company and its employees. We’re seeking candidates with experience in a similar position within the manufacturing industry to join our team for the long term.

Reporting to the UK Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) Manager your role responsibilities will include:

o  Organize and conduct risk assessments and assist in the preparation of the necessary documentation.

o  Perform regular safety checks to ensure compliance with company safety regulations.

o  Collaborate with department managers to investigate accidents and compile information

o  Facilitate the administration of

o  Ordering and replenishment of personal protective equipment and first aid supplies.

o  Contractor documentation

o  Near miss and Behavioral Based Safety Reporting

o  Audit documentation and follow up on necessary actions

o  Develop a good working relationship within the operational teams

o  Be able to develop the safety culture within the factory environment and the wider business

o  Create appropriate documentation and training material to assist with on-site training regarding Health and Safety (H&S) and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) programs.

o  Communicate, train and implement the required safety, technical, environmental and operational procedures at all levels

o  Support facility safety measures, including testing fire alarms, inspecting fire equipment, and coordinating mandated safety inspections.

o  Conduct monthly safety inspections of equipment such as fire extinguishers and first aid kits, along with routine site evaluations.

o  Assist with compliance-related safety tasks, including fire risk assessments and equipment inspections.

o  Support for health and safety initiatives throughout the organization and report any concerns to the Health, Safety and Environmental Manager.

o  Provide guidance to employees to ensure their understanding and adherence to safety regulations and procedures.

o  Ensure all employees are aware of their safety responsibilities and offer assistance as needed.

o  Coordinate the ordering and replenishment of personal protective equipment and first aid supplies.

o  Maintain up-to-date information on the site’s Health and Safety notice boards.

To be considered for this role we require the following skills, qualifications and experience:

·      Effective communication skills and ability to influence others

·      Strong IT skills in Microsoft Office suite
