Cannock Chase District Council and Stafford Borough Council are committed to achieving excellence in the administration, billing and recovery of Council Tax from their shared Revenues Service.
The following opportunity has arisen for a candidate with the appropriate skills, experience and commitment to join our service. Whilst the successful candidate will be based primarily in Cannock, you may be required on occasion to work at sites across the Cannock Chase and Stafford Borough areas.
The post holder will be responsible for the inspection of Council Tax and Business Rates properties and visits to taxpayers, ratepayers and benefit claimants for the whole of the Council's district.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and be able to deal with face-to-face and telephone enquiries in an efficient, polite and sensitive manner along with the ability to analyse and interpret complex or contentious data.
A good knowledge of Council Tax and Business Rates legislation is desirable, as well as previous experience of working in Local Authority Revenues and Benefits administration.
A full driving licence, use of a vehicle for work purposes and the ability to work outside normal hours as required are essential.
The closing date for receipt of completed applications is Friday 13th June 2025.
