Full Job Description

The purpose of the job is to work with private sector landlords to increase access to the private rented sector including through promotion of the Council's schemes, Rent Bonds, the Social Lettings Agency and Private Sector Leasing schemes for people in housing need. The postholder will provide ongoing management to properties within the portfolio ensuring the properties are cleaned and maintained as required to ensure they meet the council's appropriate lettable standard and to meet legal compliance requirements. They will work with new and existing tenants as they move into and move on from properties. The role will also include providing tenancy support and pre-tenancy training to applicants, including those with complex needs to support them access and sustain accommodation and assist in the meeting the requirements of the Homeless Reduction Act 2017 through assisting applicants to access the private rented sector and sustain accommodation.

The post holder should be qualified to HNC or above qualification or A levels or equivalent and also have 5 GCSEs including Maths and English (A-C or New Grade 4-9) or equivalent. They should also have a minimum of 2 years related work experience and sufficient knowledge and experience to ensure that private rented properties are inspected under the relevant private sector housing regulations (HHSRS) to promote a safe alternative housing option and contribute towards improving private sector property conditions within Wyre Forest. The perfect candidate will have analytical and problem-solving skills, be IT literate to a good standard including email, spreadsheets and databases, have experience of working with partners/external organisations, experience of presenting a range of topics both orally and in writing. You will work alongside project officers, the Private Sector Housing team and housing advice officers to provide a comprehensive service to homeless households
