Full Job Description
We're looking for a motivated Assistant Facilities Manager to support service delivery at the Aerospace Business Park in St Athan on behalf of the Welsh Government., As the Assistant Facilities Manager you'll help oversee all hard and soft services, including planned and reactive maintenance, grounds maintenance, and basic cleaning operations. You'll ensure the contract delivers high standards of performance, quality, and compliance in line with client expectations and statutory requirements. This is more than a support role - it's a development opportunity. You'll play a vital part in maintaining and improving facilities for this key strategic site, with a clear pathway to progress into a Facilities Manager role. You'll receive tailored training, mentoring, and a professional development plan as part of your progression journey. Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of all TFM services on site (PPM, reactive, grounds, and cleaning)
- Monitor contractor performance and hold them to account for service levels
- Assist with compliance documentation, audits, and statutory obligations
- Liaise with client stakeholders, site users, and service providers
- Respond to day-to-day operational issues with a problem-solving mindset
- Ensure health and safety is always prioritised on site
Experience in facilities management or building services - Strong organisational and interpersonal skills
- Understanding of service delivery standards across various facilities services
- Confidence managing contractors and supporting compliance
- Knowledge of planned/reactive maintenance regimes would be beneficial
- IOSH, NEBOSH, or IWFM qualifications (desirable, not essential)
