Full Job Description

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Greenwich to assist with the appointment of an Interim Fire Risk Officer, on a 2-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.Rate of Pay: £19.67 - £24.75 per hourSummary:To be responsible to the Team Manager and for the day to day management of the health and safety of building projects, maintenance contracts and fire risk assessments across the Borough. The allocation of work to Property Services Officers/Supervisors or external contractors/sub-contractors. To be responsible for established standards of work, cost, allocated building maintenance, building construction or related works within the team.Responsibilities:

  • Identify, assess, and monitor organisational risks across departments
  • Develop and implement risk management frameworks, tools, and reporting processes
  • Support managers in preparing risk registers and action plans
  • Coordinate regular risk reviews and ensure timely updates
  • Monitor compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements
  • Prepare reports for senior management and external stakeholders on risk-related matters

    Qualified Fire Risk Assessor (FRA training will be provided as a minimum)
  • Member of the Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE)
  • Experience working with complex, tenanted social housing blocks
  • In-depth knowledge of: BS 9999, Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and PAS 79
  • Understanding of contract law, statutory regulations, British Standards, and their implementation in maintenance and refurbishment contracts
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan, supervise, and deliver programmes
  • Excellent communication and mentoring skills
