Applications are invited for a Research and Innovation Associate in African History for the interdisciplinary collaborative project Unhousing Restitution. Unhousing Restitution. African audiovisual heritage between displacement and return (UNREST). This postdoctoral position will be based at Oxford's Department of International Development (ODID), and is one of two UNREST research and innovation associateships (RIAs) based respectively at Oxford and KCL.

We seek a person with expertise in Africa's history of decolonization and/or African audio visual and cultural research and methods. We welcome applications from all career stages, provided they have a doctorate. This position is offered full time for a period of 21 Months.

The successful candidate will hold PhD/Dphil in African history, visual anthropology, film studies or related disciplines. They will also have an excellent academic publication record that is commensurate with stage of career. Excellent communication skills are essential for this role, including the ability to write for publication, present research proposals and results, and represent the research group at meetings.
