Full Job Description

Commercial Manager - Infrastructure Location - Cheltenham, Gloucestershire What you will be doing: As Commercial Manager, you will work closely with your commercial line manager and operational colleagues to manage all commercial aspects of our new M5 J10 highways scheme in Cheltenham. You will be responsible for managing the commercial administration, reporting and performance on the project. Report to the business unit Commercial Director.

  • Ensure a safe working environment.
  • Act as Project Commercial Lead for contract administration.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
  • Produce and negotiate Subcontract documentation, including terms, prices, and schedules.
  • Manage subcontract works, including interim assessments and change management.
  • Issue commercial notices to both the client and subcontractors as required.
  • Manage contract changes, including submitting Compensation Event Quotations.
  • Submit monthly applications to the client as per contract requirements.
  • Collaborate with operational and engineering teams to maintain accurate site records.
  • Develop detailed reports, forecasts, and cost plans, and support project risk management.

    Strong understanding of standard forms of contract.
  • Advanced IT skills, including Excel, Word, and Contractual and Cost Management Systems (CEMAR, Oracle).
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities.
  • Solid knowledge of construction processes and project management.
  • First-class time and outcome management skills.
  • Proven leadership and management expertise, with a track record of developing individuals.
  • Experience in negotiation, final account settlement, and working towards professional qualifications (MCIOB, MRICS).
