Job objectives and responsibilities · Work in partnership with the Carlisle Account Director to lead the delivery of Projects across the Carlisle Account · Actively contribute to the Account Senior Leadership Team and operate in line with policies / working practices defined by the Account Director · Lead the delivery of Projects in line with Mitie and Account processes (in agreement with client guidelines) · Projects will include for the delivery of lifecycle Major Repairs (i.e. those not delivered by the Core FM team) and Variations · Own the delivery of the annual projects budget for the Account · Prepare and maintain periodic progress updates (this will typically be monthly and quarterly) - on occasions ad hoc · Own the periodic 'maintenance' / upkeep of the Schedule of Programmed Maintenance in collaboration with the Account Director · Provide line management leadership over the project team - including both dedicated and interim resource, including Project Managers, Commercial / QS and Projects Coordinator) - structure to be determined and fluctuate in line with demand · Lead the adoption of Account policies across the projects team and maintain the required levels of collaboration with associated stakeholders (i.e. internal and external) · Drive commercial leadership and operational project deliver (typically a 40:60 split) · Mitigate operational risks and drive compliance with relevant regulations, standards and Mitie's policies and procedures. · Lead commercial discussions both internally within Mitie and with the Client - the position will be supported by Commercial / QS resource; however, the position will, on occasions, be required to 'fly-solo' commercial so this is a clear expectation for the role · Maintain lines of communication and collaboration with Mitie's Projects Centre of Excellence (PCOE) to: · Maintain Mitie best practice · Help solve for ad hoc resourcing requirements · Leverage technology and resources / processes that support the delivery of projects and demonstrate the breadth of Mitie's project delivery capability Main duties The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for managing the delivery of projects with a value between £5m to £10m (aggregate of lifecycle and variations dependent on annual programme budgets). As an experienced, commercially focussed and dynamic Senior Project Manager, you will work in partnership with our Account Director and Carlisle Hospital's Project Co and NHS Trust to create, monitor and deliver projects which will include (but not limited to) refurbishment works and mechanical / electrical facility upgrades / enhancements and on occasions new developments. Person Specification · Ability to work with a high degree of autonomy and exhibit strong leadership, including matrix management. · Maintain strong lines of communication and relationship with the Carlisle Account Manager · Demonstrated skill in managing budgets and account plans. · Relevant degree such as Construction Management, Project Management, APM and RICS PM qualifications. Mechanical and Electrical Engineering (bachelor's degree) - details of others to be declared. · Demonstrate necessary Safety Management, CDM and SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) qualifications · Proven experience as a Key Projects Account Director or similar senior-level role within the healthcare or Project / Construction management industry (minimum of 5-10 years' experience). · Strong understanding of Project Works and delivery within the healthcare sector, including the challenges and regulations specific to hospitals. · Strong understanding of PFI and proven experience delivering projects within PFI environments. · Excellent relationship-building and communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence key stakeholders at all levels. · Demonstrated track record of driving business growth and achieving revenue targets within a key account role. · Experience managing and leading multi-disciplinary teams, including but not limited to Project Managers, Quantity Surveyors, Site Managers and Project Coordinators. Strong Leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively is essential. · Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a strategic mindset. · Proactive and results-oriented approach, with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. · Flexibility to travel as required to meet with stakeholders and attend meetings. Health and Safety responsibilities · Always follow Group and company policies and procedures. · Report any apparent deficiencies in systems of work or equipment provided that may result in failure of service delivery or risk to health and safety or the environment. · Health and Safety Compliance: Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety policies, procedures, and protocols that align with current UK healthcare regulations and best practices. Monitor and ensure adherence to these standards across key accounts, identifying and addressing any areas of non-compliance. · Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Conduct comprehensive risk assessments within healthcare facilities, identifying potential hazards and risks to employees, patients, and visitors. Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop effective risk mitigation strategies and monitor their implementation. · Training and Education: Coordinate and deliver health and safety training programs to key account team, ensuring all personnel are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to maintain a safe working environment. · Stay up to date with relevant legislation and industry developments, providing guidance and training to ensure ongoing compliance. · Incident Investigation and Reporting: Lead investigations into health and safety incidents within key account, documenting findings, and recommending corrective actions. Ensure timely reporting of incidents to relevant regulatory bodies as required by law and company policies. · Relationship Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with key account management team, acting as a trusted advisor on health and safety matters. · Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to promote a positive health and safety culture, continuously improving practices and fostering a safe working environment. Continuous Improvement: Regularly review and evaluate health and safety processes, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing best practices. Proactively identify emerging health and safety trends and technologies to enhance the overall effectiveness of health and safety initiatives within key account. · Proven experience in health and safety management, ideally within the healthcare sector in the UK. · In-depth knowledge of UK health and safety regulations, guidelines, and best practices applicable to the healthcare industry. · Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to conduct thorough risk assessments and develop effective mitigation strategies. · Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization. · Demonstrated ability to lead and influence others, promoting a positive health and safety culture. · Professional certifications such as NEBOSH or IOSH are highly desirable. · Proven track record of successfully managing key accounts and delivering results.
