Full Job Description

We're looking for a motivated Health & Safety Professional to join our small, close-knit team of six at our Gaydon facility. This is more than a compliance role-it's your opportunity to shape a culture, influence outcomes, and make safety meaningful across every function of the business. You'll work on-site full time, reporting directly to the Senior Health and Safety Manger, with occasional travel and flexibility for working outside core hours. If you thrive on variety, autonomy, and real accountability, we want to hear from you! What You'll Be Doing

  • Develop, review, and implement health and safety policies and procedures tailored to our operational needs.
  • Lead risk assessments and create practical, preventative solutions.
  • Champion safety on the shop floor-visible, approachable, and ready with guidance.
  • Conduct inspections, lead audits, and drive continuous improvement in safety practices.
  • Collaborate daily with R&D, Production, Facilities, and teams across all levels of the business.
  • Manage relationships with contractors, local authorities, and the HSE.
  • Support the safe installation of equipment and contractor compliance.
  • Lead safety committee involvement and provide technical guidance on legislation and procedures.
  • Analyse incidents, report insights, and implement preventative measures.
  • Communicate safety updates through reports, newsletters, and bulletins.
  • Keep all documentation up to date and compliant with current regulations.
  • No Two Weeks Are the Same With broad exposure across the business you'll navigate diverse challenges-from strategy discussions to frontline engagement-shaping safety as a living, evolving part of everyday work.

  • Proven experience in a health and safety role within manufacturing or another high-risk setting.
  • Strong knowledge of UK HSE law, with the ability to apply it practically and confidently.
  • Outstanding communication-clear, calm, honest, and engaging with all levels.
  • Ability to manage priorities independently and handle a dynamic, varied workload.
  • A trustworthy, dependable team player who inspires confidence across the organisation.
  • Someone who works with integrity, earns respect, and is always ready to listen and support.
  • A true collaborator-comfortable advising, influencing, and leading when needed.
  • NEBOSH general certificate
  • Autonomy with Impact This role is yours to own. You'll be trusted to make decisions, manage your time, and prioritise what matters. Grow With Us We believe in continuous improvement-both operationally and personally. You'll have the opportunity to build your expertise, expand your influence, and grow in the team over time. We invest in people who are invested in making a difference. Broad Exposure, Real Influence Working across all functions of the business-from R&D to facilities-you'll gain unique visibility and the chance to shape how safety is understood and practiced business-wide. Ready to step into a role where safety is about people, trust, and progress-not just compliance? Let's talk.
