Full Job Description
The Health & Disability Digital Function are responsible for a number of services which support some of the most vulnerable users in society to receive the financial support they need as a result of their health condition or disability. Some key digital assets include Personal Independence and Access to Work. In addition, the team manage a number of digital projects that are transforming services for citizens and DWP agents. Successful candidates will work in a service team helping to deliver these key services for citizens and agents. We are looking for enthusiastic, skilled and adaptable people. We provide comprehensive training and provide access to tools, materials and expertise that encourage continuous self-development to enable our people to reach their potential and help DWP meet its strategic goals. As a Front End Developer, you will:
- Work as part of a team responsible for designing and building user-centred services.
- Work with cross-functional teams to integrate into the back end of the service to ensure that they are built and tested to a high standard.
- Turn agreed designs into robust and accessible user interfaces using HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
- Build accessible services which work effectively across multiple devices and browsers.
- Use modern tooling and development techniques to write test-driven code.
- Ensure that the design and implementation of services is consistent with standards and our design system.
- Engage with and contribute to the engineering and user-centred design communities.
- Engage with teams across different levels and capabilities.
- Have an excellent ability to self-organise and define priorities.
- Coach and mentor colleagues.
