Full Job Description
As an Applications Manager at XP Power, you will lead a dynamic team providing prompt, high-quality technical support to customers, sales teams, and distribution partners. This role combines hands-on technical engagement-including testing, evaluation, and product development-with strategic oversight of customer-specific projects, compliance with evolving legislation, and supplier relations. You'll also play a key role in growing and developing the team a leader. Job Description
- Work with the sales directors and managers to contribute to the profitable growth of our business in this industry sector, including applications support & project management over a range of products (standard & modified standard), testing & evaluation, customer & support liaison and customer & supplier visits
- Maintain an in depth knowledge of existing & new legislation/specifications, relevant power products and its impact on our product range and be able to discuss competently with internal & external customers.
- Ensure that customer specific product developments are completed on time and within budget using either internal or external resources as appropriate
- Provide timely technical support to customers, sales teams, and distribution partners, collaborating across departments to ensure accurate information is available, while staying informed and contributing to ongoing product developments.
- Ensure that customer specific products are verified and delivered to customer requirement. These are typically modified standard and value added style developments designed around standard power supplies and DC/DC converters, using either internal or external design & manufacturing resources as appropriate
- Maintain the following internal information: Datasheet database, applications notes, approval documents, technical response documents, BOMs, test specification, build instructions etc
Relevant experience for this level of role either through degree or long tenure. - Proven experience working within sale and an engineering industry.
- Power supply, industrial or medical background preferred.
- Flexible and growth mindset
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong training skills with desirable
- Efficiency in Microsoft Office suite
- Salesforce and SAP/S4 and Sharepoint knowledge is advantageous
- Be able to work as part of a team
- Have excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Strong numerical skills, with excellent attention to detail
