Full Job Description
You would be joining our team to support both adult and paediatric dietitans within our diverse department of 60 dietitians, nutrition nurse specialists, speech and language therapists, dietitian support workers and team administrators who work across our hospital and community services., You will be a key player, helping to deliver consistently high quality care to patients both adult and children, with a range of clinical and non clinical duties as described in the job description. We are looking for be a good team worker, with good communications skills. You will be based at Lewisham Hospital, London. The post involves project work on nutritional initiatives and active involvement in audit as well as direct and indirect patient care. Previous NHS experience and experience of working alongside dietitians is desirable. We will offer full support and training to help you develop and flourish in this role. - To provide assistance to the dietitians in implementing dietetic care plans for in-patients
- To liaise with catering staff with regards to provision of special diets, in conjunction with the dietitians
- To liaise with pharmacy and pharmaceutical companies regarding nutritional supplements, in conjunction with the dietitians
- With support from the dietitians, to undertake teaching and education of nurses and other members of the multidisciplinary team in nutrition screening and basic nutrition support
- To update dietetic resources as required by the dietitians
